Weblog entry:
- Pinterian tech support
-
- One:
- Well, as you inserted the paper yourself, the drive’s repair won’t be covered by your warranty.
- Two:
- Really? Well, the last support technician I spoke to lead me to believe that there wouldn’t be any problem with that.
- One:
- I’m sorry, but accidental damage is outside the scope of your plan’s coverage. If you ship it down, our technicians will assess the damage; if the paper turns out to be the cause of the drive’s malfunction, we’ll have to charge you for the repair.
- Two:
- [sighs] Okay, well, what might that repair cost?
- One:
- Sure, I can look that up for you. One moment, please.
- [pause]
- One:
- Okay, a ComboDrive replacement will be nine hundred and fifty dollars.
- [pause]
- Two:
- I’m sorry?
- One:
- Nine hundred and fifty dollars — that covers parts and labor.
- Two:
- [silence]
And, scene.
