Rules of Engagement, part 6.

When interviewing for a position in executive/upper-level management, I find would recommend that you, the hopeful, avoid reword reconsider never, ever use the following phrases under any circumstances:

  1. When you’re talking about dollars, that’s money.
  2. If things get too tough, you may need to just pull up your socks and throw in the towel.
  3. You’ve got lots of pretty horses, but only two dollars. You can only make one bet.
  4. At the end of a meeting, we’ll have to throw something on the table and have at it.
