Weblog entry:

Speak, and receive thy answer.

The WaSP has issued a press statement in an attempt to quell a lot of the uneasiness regarding the recent developments — or upcoming lack thereof — on IE.

Although the overall points of the piece are tops, it’s apparent to me that we’re definitely dealing with a kindler, gentler WaSP. While I definitely love the steely tone of the press release’s closing list of requests, I can’t help but feel that the Web Standards Project is missing an opportunity here. Maybe it is time for something on the level of DASIE…who knows.

Update: Looks like they’ve removed the press release; thankfully, Google managed to cache it successfully. It’ll be interesting to see what their rationale was, if any, for taking it down; was it an unfinished piece that still required a few edits, or are they contemplating a change in position?
