Weblog entry:
- Hopefully moving forward

I am weak, weak, weak: forty-five degree angles, soft bevels, liberal use of Gill Sans. When I added the drop shadow, I wept like a baby.
Like a baby, I tell you.
So despite it all, welcome — for what it’s worth, this is the next version of sidesh0w.com. I don’t see this version as anything particularly revolutionary; I mean, I still haven’t gotten rid of that damned flower. Overhauling the CSS and the markup were the big achievements in this redesign, and I hope it makes the site easier to use for the three of you. Besides, given that Dave and Doug both launched redesigns this week, I figured it’d be a great time to go live with my own. While you’re ooh-ing and ah-ing over sites that actually look sexy, I’ll have a little extra time to
grab your walletdate your sisteriron things out over here.On a cautionary note, there may be a few bugs still kicking around the site. That’s not a reflection on Matt et. al.’s excellent WordPress, which powers the site — rather, I probably broke something when I hacked the software to bits with a very large stick. So if you encounter an error, please let me know.
I plan to write up a few of the semi-interesting (read: "not narcolepsy-inducing") site changes a little later on, but in the meantime: Molly, Christopher, Catherine, Andrew, Dunstan and She provided invaluable feedback while I worked on this. I can’t thank them enough. To everyone else: if you hate the new version, it’s their fault. I can get you phone numbers should you wish to complain.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go pay my rent.
There’s a WordPress issue that’s currently preventing old comments from displaying correctly. Sorry for the inconvenience, but hopefully we’ll be back online soon.
