Weblog entry:
- An ode to a bag
-
I am such a craven, materialistic son of a bitch.
After leaving the consulting job a few years ago, I went on the lookout for a new bag: something a little less corporate whore-ish than the company’s standard-issue laptop briefcase I’d been lugging around.
After a fair amount of research, I stumbled across Chrome, a messenger/DJ/laptop bag shop in San Francisco, who, thankfully, had an online store. Fancy that. Their bags were nice indeed, the prices reasonable, and every bulletin board I visited raved about Chrome’s customer service. After some deliberation, I settled on a medium-sized Citizen messenger bag, with the trés sexy-sexy seat belt buckle. Once I bought the PowerBook, I picked up one of Chrome’s laptop sleeves, and now the Citizen doubles as my primary means of laptop conveyance.
Anyway. So I guess the point of all this rambling is that if you’re looking for a holiday gift for the geek in your life, consider this an unsolicited endorsement for Chrome’s product line. I’ve had my Citizen some two years now, and it hasn’t shown a single bit of wear. It’s incredibly well made, affordable, spacious, and damned comfortable — the Chrome website mentions

-something-or-other, but all I know is that I can practically overload the damn thing, and not feel bogged down in the slightest. And of course, it’s all about looking trés sexy-sexy.God, I need sleep.
