Weblog entry:
- A day in the day of.
-
- 3.43am
- Awake.
- 4.12am
- Still awake. A few choice (and yet unsatisfying) swears are muttered.
- 4.23am
- Fatigue is like a lead fringe, tugging at the edges of peripheral vision. Frustration gives way to resignation.
- 5.13am
- E-mail, newsfeeds, and web surfing work about as well as warm milk. Quiet music yields a faint but insistent rapping from the other side of your wall.
- 5.39am
- Books are leafed through, the pages blur in the lamplight.
- 5.53am
- Outside, the sky begins to brighten.
- 6.30am
- Sleep.
- 7.00am
- Alarm. Snooze button.
- 7.09am
- Alarm. Snooze button.
- 7.18am
- Alarm. Snooze button.
- 7.27am
- Alarm. Snooze button.
- 7.28am
- Resignation. A few choice (and yet unsatisfying) swears are muttered. Legs swung over side of bed, motion.
- 7.30am
- The water runs, scalding hot and steaming. Forehead rests against the tiled wall. Inhale.
- 8.10am
- Out the door, heading into the office. Gray skies, a quiet neighborhood. In the park nearby, a man in lime green jogging pants does a few squats, then begins to stretch.
- A handful of people are out at this hour. None of them are smiling.
