Weblog entry:

The aftermath.

All things told, I think the presentation went pretty well. At least, for a first time attempt, that is — I can think of so much I sorely need to improve upon (She informed me that I used the word essentially a few hundred too many times). And the presentation’s definitely in need of a rewrite: when it finally went live, it didn’t flow as naturally as I’d hoped (read: at all).

The heartening thing about the experience was that there were probably fifty or so people in the room — the place was packed. This is obviously a topic in which the academic development community’s interested; my standards-based redesign (link coming soon) of the Harvard University homepage was pretty well-received. I just hope, at the least, that my content shone more brightly than my apparent lack of public speaking skills…and that the latter didn’t turn anyone off to web standards.

Guess we’ll see. As St. M said, Gotta start somewhere, E. You gotta start somewhere.

Hooray, technical difficulties.

There’s a WordPress issue that’s currently preventing old comments from displaying correctly. Sorry for the inconvenience, but hopefully we’ll be back online soon.
